Kristine & Kenji
The wedding stationary for Kristine and Kenji included an invitation for their reception, response card with envelope, custom liners for the envelopes, a custom stamp for the return address, and a custom wax seal. The suite was printed digitally on soft white paper. To save on time and costs, the address labels were printed on circular stickers, mimicking the gradient “rising sun” on the cards.
A bit about designing the cards: I was so happy to create the Invitation suite for Kristine and Kenji’s wedding reception. Kristine’s family is from Vietnam, and they decided to have a destination wedding in Hoi An, Vietnam. Kenji’s grandparents are from Japan, and the culture is also important to their lives, so they wanted to make sure their reception celebration had Japanese elements to highlight both their family’s cultures. I was asked to create something clean and modern, with the theme of Origami Cranes, since the couple plan to have Japanese tradition of 1000 paper cranes at their reception. The wax seal for the outer envelope was custom made, a replica of Kenji’s Japanese family crest, or “kamon.”
